Family Prayer/Blessing
By: Randall A. Powell Dear ‘Father in Heaven’; We bow our heads and ‘Lift Our Hearts to You’…for we understand that our weekend together and ‘In Fact Our Very Lives’ are a gift from ‘You’ and ‘You’ alone. We offer all praises to you ‘Lord’, and we’re so very thankful that ‘You’ have brought us to Columbus safely! As you know ‘Lord’, we’re here for a weekend of ‘Family Celebration’. This, the family you’ve graciously given to us. We acknowledge our ancestry and we remember our loved ones; we lovingly open ourselves as a family to others who might join it, both old and new. We thank you ‘Lord ’, for the time you’ve put aside in your Master Plan for each of us… Father please open our hearts and minds, and in your own loving way; touch each of us, so that we may understand and be reminded once again that; ‘A Family That Prays Together Stays Together’. And we give thanks to you Lord, for the safe travel of every family member who’s here this weekend. I ask that you bless the hearts of those family members unable to make the journey, for whatever the reason. We give thanks to you for your daily support and guidance which we receive through the ‘Holy Spirit’. We pray that you provide remarkable strength to those who are in need. I ask that you watch over, guide, and protect the lives of every young person connected to this Family. I ask in the name of Jesus, that you will give every Parent the assistance they need in raising their families; where infants are concerned, where teens are tested and then distracted, not how the outside world would have it, but, rather the way ‘You’ desired the Family to be… Lastly, ‘O Lord’ We ask in the name of Jesus that you bless the food and beverage that we’re about to receive for the nourishment of our bodies, and the hands that so prepared it…In the Name of the ‘Father’, the ‘Son’ and ‘The Holly Spirit’, Amen. |
